It is important to carry out regular checks and maintenance on all aspects of your Versaflo system in order to maintain protection levels, help extend and optimise the effective lifetime of your system and avoid the cost of replacing the whole unit.

Carry out checks before and after use, as well as monthly inspections, and ensure that you replace all damaged parts immediately to maintain correct levels of protection. Replacement parts, accessories and consumables can be ordered online at industrialscientific.co.uk.

After Use: You should clean the unit casing, breathing tube and headtop with a cloth dampened with a mild solution of water and liquid household soap and disinfect with 3M 105 wipes.

Store your system in a dry, clean area, away from direct sunlight, high temperatures and solvents.

Before Use: 
Inspect parts for damage and replace them if necessary

  • Face seal – ensure that it is inserted into the headtop correctly and is free from splits and tears
  • Outer shroud (M-400 Series) – ensure that it is free from tears and its gasket is inserted properly
  • Inner collar (M-400 Series)
  • Visor, its surround and gasket
  • Helmet shell
  • Forehead seal
  • Head harness
  • Comfort pads

And replace peel off visor covers (if used)

S-Series Headtop Care and Maintenance

Before Use: Inspect the following parts and remove and replace if necessary.

  • Comfort band
  • Hood – ensure elasticated edges are intact, fabric is free from splits or tears and visor is undamaged (If replacement is necessary with premium maintainable hood, remove head harness and connector, replace the hood and ensure that the head harness and connector are correctly installed into the new hood)
  • Replace visor peel off cover if used

Turbo Unit Parts and Accessories
Powered Air – TR-302+ Turbo Unit

Before Use:

  • Use indicator button to confirm battery charge
  • Ensure that the filter is correctly fitted
  • If spark arrestor and / or pre-filter are used, ensure they are clean
  • Perform airflow check – insert Airflow Indicator Tube. Refer to Turbo user instruction for information
  • Perform alarm check. Refer to Turbo user instruction for information
  • Visually inspect for damage
  • Inspect breathing tube – ensure it is free from splits or holes
  • Inspect belt – ensure it is free from splits or tears and the buckle is undamaged

Filter Changing: Inspect the filter and inner seal and replace if damaged. Always properly install the filter into the Turbo.

Supplied Air – V-Series

Before Use:

  • Ensure couplings are securely fitted
  • Inspect breathing tube – ensure it is free from splits or holes
  • Inspect belt – ensure it is free from splits or tears and the buckle is undamaged
  • Replace filter if odour is detected during use (V-500 Regulator)

You should change the filter for your 3M Versaflo V-500 Regulator every six months.
